- Halie Loren And Her Dreamy New Visions in Jazz
By Robert White, Â Editor-In-Chief Halie Loren, an award-winning jazz singer-songwriter from Oregon, has just released her latest album, Dreams Lost and Found, through Nettwerk/Justin Time Records. Known for her rich, emotive vocal style, Loren brings a fresh wave of creativity to the jazz scene with this new release, which delves deep into themes of renewal, discovery, and transformation. Q: Can you talk about the beginning of your career in music and how you knew jazz was your genre? Halie Loren: It all started in Alaska, on a small island in the southeast. Pop culture didnât really penetrate there, so I grew up listening to my parents' eclectic album collectionâjazz, blues, country, and classic rock. I first performed live when I was 10, despite having terrible stage fright. That experience, playing with a professional band, never left me. After moving to Oregon as a teenager, I immersed myself in the local music community, performing at festivals and fairs. That set me on a path of singing and songwriting. I moved to Nashville at 16 to work with a manager, but after accruing songwriting credits and exploring different genres, I returned to Oregon for college and a fresh start, which eventually led me back to jazz. Q: With your extensive touring experience across different continents and cultures, how does your music resonate with diverse audiences worldwide? Halie Loren: After my music started gaining traction in Japan, I began touring internationally. From Japan to China, Egypt, and across Europe, my career has involved returning to these places to perform. My music seems to resonate because of its blend of genres and its genuine emotional depth, which connects with people regardless of their cultural background. Q: What inspired the themes of longing and transformation in your new album "Dreams Lost and Found"? Halie Loren: The inspiration came from recent global changes, especially the pandemic. It prompted a lot of introspection about what I truly want and feel. This album reflects a shedding of old illusions and a search for new directions. Itâs about letting go of outdated dreams to make space for new ones, which I think is a universal experience. Q: Are there any songs on the album that stand out as favorites for you? Halie Loren: It's hard to choose favorites because each song carries a piece of the story I wanted to tell. However, tracks like âSukiyaki (You Took Your Love Away)â and âFor All We Knowâ hold special places for their blend of nostalgia and new interpretation. Q: What can fans expect from your upcoming tour in the Pacific Northwest and your return to Japan? Halie Loren: Fans can expect a mix of intimate and dynamic performances. Iâll be showcasing many of the new albumâs tracks, and I'm particularly excited about bringing the fresh, live essence of these songs to audiences, both familiar and new. The tour is a celebration of where my music has been and where itâs going. Halie Loren continues to enchant audiences worldwide with her unique blend of jazz and storytelling, and her new album, Dreams Lost and Found, is a testament to her evolving artistry and her ability to navigate the complexities of human emotions through music. - Exploring the Musical Self, Michael Kalisky Schutz Unveils "WHOAMI"
By Salva Herrero, Â Contributing Writer In the realm of musical explorations, few are as introspective and revealing as Michael Kalisky Schutz's latest album, "WHOAMI." Following the success of his first two albums, "The Voice of Peace" and "BACKWISE," the Boston-based guitarist and composer delves deeper into the narrative of self-discovery through an auditory journal that documents his dialogue with himself. The album, recorded in his native Tel Aviv, spans a range of genres, blending jazz fusion with elements of rock, classical, and electronic music. The cover of "WHOAMI," shot by renowned photographer Rupert Truman and inspired by the legendary Storm Thorgerson, features a solitary figure in a spacesuit, standing in a sparse forest. This figure, face obscured and a guitar casually slung over the shoulder, holds a folded lead sheetâperhaps symbolizing Schutzâs journey into the depths of his musical psyche. Q: Michael, could you share how you started playing the guitar? A: Absolutely. It began when I was 10 years old, after a leg injury forced me to stay indoors. I picked up the guitar during that idle time and fell in love with it. The conservatory I attended shortly thereafter helped me formalize my passion into skill. Despite a hiatus during my military service, my dedication never wavered, especially when my captain allowed me time to continue my practice and studies. Q: The title "WHOAMI" seems very personal. Whatâs the story behind this album? A: "WHOAMI" reflects a period of profound personal inquiry. I wrote most of the music during my time in the military, using any break to compose pieces on a piano app on my phone. This album is very much about me questioning my identity and my path, both as a musician and an individual. The astronaut on the cover, lost in an unfamiliar forest, mirrors my feelings of navigating unknown territories in life and music. Q: Who are your musical influences and heroes? A: I've always been drawn to both the style and skill of great musicians. Jazz greats like Hank Mobley and modern maestros like Corey Henry have influenced my work. However, itâs the foundational techniques I learned from classical guitarists, especially my mentor Yaron Hasson, that deeply shape my approach to music. Their mastery of form and function inspires my own creative expressions. Schutzâs "WHOAMI" is not just an album but a multifaceted journey through the layers of musical innovation and personal growth. Each track invites the listener to experience the nuances of his introspective journey, underscored by a diverse and talented ensemble of musicians. With his continued studies at Berklee College of Music and a clear vision for his future projects, Michael Kalisky Schutz is poised to keep unraveling the complexities of identity and artistry, note by note. As he crafts his path in the world of music, one can only anticipate more profound narratives woven into the strings of his favored guitar.

- A New Approach to the American Dream: How Monica Huldt Rode Social Media to Success
In the last decade, social media has gone from just being a fun distraction to a way to make serious money. YouTube creators, Instagram influencers, and social media-based businesses have found a way to leverage social media's exposure and engagement into a solid living. We interviewed Monica Huldt social media influencer/ model who has expanded into a brand and entrepreneur. Determination and Drive I had no plans on being a successful social media influencer when I came to the United States from Sweden with my husband. What I did have was the typical tenacity and drive of an immigrant. I was born in Poland and raised in Sweden. The community where we lived in Sweden wasn't very welcoming to foreigners. The cold shoulder from the people around me, coupled with a strict upbringing, led to an adolescence that included depression and, eventually, an eating disorder. Despite setbacks and struggles, I was determined to make something of myself. I received a bachelor's degree in education and taught school for a year, but I didn't find it fulfilling in the way I had thought it would be. I entered the business realm and even opened my own nail business. I've had an entrepreneurial streak from the get-go, but my heart was set on modeling. Becoming a model was a venture my strict mother strongly warned me against pursuing. In 2014, I threw caution to the wind and set out towards the United States to pursue a modeling career. The New American Dream Landing in a new country with nothing but our varied skills and a hunger for success, my husband and I struggled to make ends meet initially. The hardscrabble life of an immigrant is a story told again and again among newcomers to this country. Starting from scratch in an unfamiliar place was monumentally difficult, especially when I had not yet earned my Green Card. The American Dream has driven swathes of people across oceans and over borders generation after generation. Even though their end goals may differ, the drive is the same. Immigrants seek a better life, realization of their purpose, and a greater opportunity for financial stability. My lack of a Green Card meant that getting a traditional job was impossible, so I started stripping to keep us both afloat as my husband pursued a personal training career. It was far from where I wanted to be, but we were new to the country and needed to pay the bills. Parlaying a Passion into Profit I always had social media accounts, but it wasn't until I started combining a passion for modeling with monetization that things began to fall into place for me. I started with my Instagram following, which was gaining in strength. One of my Instagram followers suggested that I check out OnlyFans. Not knowing much about it, I joined and grew my subscriber base slowly. Today, I can bring in up to $150,000 a month from my social media accounts. Our days of pinching pennies while I strip to keep us afloat are over, as are my days of sadness, depression, and stress. "I believe what sets me apart and has led to my unique success with social media lies in how I authentically engage with my followers and subscribers." Authentically Engaging I believe what sets me apart and has led to my unique success with social media lies in how I authentically engage with my followers and subscribers. I like to make every follower feel special. I go out of my way to personally connect, which is something not every social media star will do. I will answer DM's and other messages, and I genuinely enjoy hearing about their lives and building friendships with many of them. People are drawn to authentic relationships online because it is such an anomaly. Followers and subscribers will reward influencers who go above and beyond with their engagement. The Life of Dreams I never imagined I would be where I am today, making a living through social media. I don't want to rest on my laurels. However, I hope to continue growing my modeling career and become a strong advocate for female entertainers. I'm passionate about removing stigmas that surround adult entertainers. I also am interested in real estate, so who knows, perhaps that will be my next great adventure! If I have learned anything from my journey, it is the lesson that taking risks often leads to amazing rewards.

Above all, growing on a personal and professional level, being able to continue learning every day. Keep working on what I really like, but in Spain in general it is difficult to grow professionally in all or most sectors, since companies donÂŽt make it easy for you. I admire companies that value their workers and support them. What brand would you like to work with? I would love to be able to shoot with sports brands. Example Adidas... I love sports. And other brands like Tommy Hilfiger... A perfect day for you? Enjoy life, there is time for everything. - Silver Frogâs Christina Ross on how to set marketing goals with SEO and PPC
We sat down with Christina Ross, CEO and President of Silverfrog Marketing on how effectively set marketing goals with SEO and PPC. Here is what she had to say: The Internet makes it possible to sell everything to everyone all the time and everywhere. Which sounds great--until you try to form realistic goals for your marketing spend. At Silver Frog, we specialize in delivering lead generation across multiple media at clearance prices. In other words, we deliver higher ROI for our clientsâ budgets. But itâs up to them, and probably you, to decide where they need to be and at what cost. Successful Internet marketing is all about targeting and engagement; its primary tools are search engine optimization (SEO) and pay-per-click advertising (PPC). Youâll need to consider all four when setting your goals for 2022--and beyond. Set Markers Every website is measured and ranked constantly, meaning that itâs easy to find out both where you stand and whether your marketing dollars are being spent efficiently. But where you end up depends on where you begin. So, do you want to be among the top five or top ten search results on Google, for example? Do you need to be verified on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter? And how many badges, endorsements, ratings, testimonials and/or reviews do you need before your domain authority hits the jackpot? There wonât be one answer for everyone, and sometimes just moving in the right direction is an accomplishment in itself. But whether your immediate goals are engaging an audience, building an audience or converting leads, remember that what ultimately matters in the virtual world is establishing trust. Nail the Landing Whether a user finds you by clicking on an ad or entering a Google search term, where they land is extremely important. Remember that getting eyeballs to your site is just the first step. Youâll want to have goals in terms of sales conversion, follow-ups, and engagement in calls to action (CTAs), at minimum. If youâre spending a lot of money on PPC and SEO that delivers users into a black hole, your marketing budget is being wasted. Engagement Plans A lesser-known fact is that the quality of your landing site relates back to your SEO, PPC and ultimately your domain authority--basically your âtrustedâ rank on the Internet. In order to build up your SEO--and get better PPC prices--you must build a quality site that engages visitors. Benchmark yourself against popular sites to know when youâre falling short. Itâs no secret that granularity is becoming a thing of the past. In April, Apple made third-party apps ask for permission to be tracked, and according to Flurry, only 18% of iPhone users in the U.S. are giving it. Meanwhile, Google has announced plans to get rid of third-party cookies by late 2021. What this means is that youâll need to grab a visitorâs data yourself, or lose it forever. Whatâs My Story? One of the most effective ways of gaining trust is telling a compelling story, so building a narrative around your brand should definitely make your list of goals. A recent study, for example, showed that most millennials and GenZers now get their investing advice on YouTube, where thousands of thought leaders give advice on everything from buying stocks to crypto, largely by telling stories of the marketâs past and future. My advice is, donât be a book. The Internet is a visual medium, so invest in some high-quality photos and video. You canât afford to tell a boring story, or the same one over and over again. Your site, like your goals, should be dynamic, challenging and a little tribal. When you reach a milestone, celebrate it online and donât hesitate to thank your users for being the bigger part of it. Be inclusive. We may set goals for ourselves, but an engaged and excited online audience makes those goals achievable. Christina Ross is the President and Marketing Director at Silver Frog Marketing and loves helping businesses with their creative design and overall marketing efforts. She has spent the majority of her career in the marketing industry, gaining experiences in areas such as website design, social media marketing, TV/Radio broadcast and Google marketing
- Cracking the Female Communication Code: 10 Effective Ways to Connect with Her
By Melani Le'Ona , Dating & Relationship Coach In the fast-paced world of modern dating, understanding the intricacies of female communication can feel like deciphering a cryptic message. Men often find themselves scratching their heads, wondering what she really means or how to effectively connect with her on a deeper level. Fear not, gentlemen, for I am here to equip you with the essential tools to crack the female communication code and forge meaningful connections with the women in your life. Let me help you decode the mystery... Â Listen with Intent, Not Just to Respond One of the key components of effective communication with women is active listening. Instead of simply waiting for your turn to speak, and planning what you will say, make a conscious effort to listen with intent. Pay attention to not only her words, but also her body language and emotions. Her body and her vibe will tell you more than her words will. Listening like this demonstrates that you value her thoughts and feelings, you respect her, and it is laying the foundation for a true, authentic connection. Â Show Empathy and Understanding Women appreciate men who can empathize with their experiences and emotions. Put yourself in her shoes, acknowledge her feelings, and respond with understanding rather than judgment. This empathetic approach fosters a sense of emotional safety and encourages open communication. Â Ask Open-Ended Questions Engage her in meaningful conversations by asking open-ended questions that require more than a simple yes or no answer. This shows that you are genuinely interested in getting to know her on a deeper level and allows for richer, more insightful dialogue. Â Share Your Vulnerabilities Contrary to popular belief, vulnerability is a strength, not a weakness. By sharing your own vulnerabilities and insecurities, you create a safe space for her to do the same. This level of authenticity deepens the connection and promotes mutual trust and understanding. This doesn't mean turn into a blubbering mess on your first date! But, when the time comes where you want to forge a deeper bond, and a deeper awareness of her needs, step out of macho & into vulnerable masculinity. Â Mirror Her Communication Style Pay attention to her communication style, whether it's verbal, non-verbal, or a combination of both. Mirroring her tone, pace, and even body language can establish a sense of rapport and make her feel understood and respected. Be yourself, of course, but, pay attention to her style. Â Offer Support and Encouragement Women often seek emotional support and validation in their relationships. Be her cheerleader, offering encouragement and reassurance during both the highs and lows of life. Ask her what makes her days better. Ask her how you can best show support. Your unwavering encouragement will strengthen the emotional bond between you, and you will stand out from the pack! Â Practice Patience and Understanding Patience is a virtue, especially when it comes to decoding the complexities of female communication. Be patient with her thoughts and feelings, and take the time to understand her perspective before jumping to conclusions. This demonstrates respect for her individuality and fosters mutual respect. Â Respect Her Boundaries Respecting her boundaries is crucial in building a healthy and trusting relationship. Pay attention to her cues and signals, both verbal and non-verbal, and honor her need for space or privacy when necessary. This shows that you value her autonomy and are capable of setting healthy boundaries yourself. Her boundaries are there for a reason. Talk about them, respect them. Â Appreciate Her Unique Qualities Celebrate her individuality and appreciate the qualities that make her who she is. Acknowledge her strengths, quirks, and passions, and express genuine admiration for the person she is becoming. Ask her about her passions and her individuality. Your appreciation will make her feel seen and valued in your eyes. Â Communicate with Honesty and Integrity Above all, communication with women should be marked by honesty and integrity. Be truthful in your words and actions, and uphold your commitments and promises. Do not over-promise. Integrity forms the bedrock of a strong, lasting connection based on trust and respect. Â Cracking the female communication code requires a blend of patience, empathy, strength, vulnerability and authenticity. By listening actively, showing empathy, and communicating with honesty and integrity, you can forge meaningful connections with the women in your life and unlock the full potential of your relationships. Remember, communication is not just about words â it's about connecting on a deeper level and truly understanding and appreciating each other's unique perspectives and experiences.
