In this exclusive interview, we sit down with Bailey Spinn to delve into her incredible journey from content creator to musician, the inspiration behind her music, and the powerful message she hopes to convey. As a part of the LGBTQIA+ community, Bailey is proud to present her music as a reflection of her true self, making it all the more meaningful to her dedicated fans.

Q: Your journey from being a successful content creator on TikTok and YouTube to now making your live music debut is truly impressive. Can you share with us what inspired you to transition into the music industry and how you navigated this new path?

Bailey: I started doing music in the beginning of 2021. I always loved singing, but it took a lot of encouragement to really get it out there. I found my own team and producers and was doing it for a year and a half before it all came out. I used to cry when I would even think about singing in front of anyone, and now that people love my music and are accepting, I love posting and singing live.

Q: "Romance is Dead" received an overwhelming response from your fans, and now you've released your second single, "Runner Up." Can you tell us about the inspiration behind these songs and the message you hope to convey through your music?

Bailey: "Romance is Dead" and "Runner Up" are both part of an EP I am going to release in August. I'm going to have five releases on Spotify. When I write, I really reflect on life. I went through bullying, and I was just not supported. I went through a lot of mental health struggles, and lyrics and music have given me an outlet for those stories and thoughts. "Romance is Dead" points out what I thought a relationship would be, and no one was really meeting those standards.

Q: We understand that you draw inspiration from Hayley Williams of Paramore. How has she influenced your musical style and approach to creating music, and what do you hope to bring to the Pop-Punk genre with a Gen Z twist?

Bailey: It was really about her style for me. I really appreciate the way she sings, and you can really take in the emotions that she has when she sings. That strong powerful belt is a huge inspiration for me. After seeing her live, it was so impressive to see her running around and really being engaged with the audience.

Q: How has your personal experience shaped your music, and why was it essential for you to have your music be a true reflection of your identity?

Bailey: I really reflect on life when I write. I went through bullying, and I was just not supported. I went through a lot of mental health struggles, and lyrics and music have given me an outlet for those stories and thoughts. "Romance is Dead" is just pointing out what I thought a relationship would be, and no one was really meeting those standards.

Q: Social media has played a significant role in your life, both as a source of comfort and a platform for success. How do you think social media has influenced your career and helped you overcome the bullying you faced during your school days?

Bailey: It can be really great to get support and have a platform to release my music. But people really do not have a lot of good things to say. They challenge me with my voice, music, and style. If most of the comments are hateful comments, it can really affect you personally. When I did covers on YouTube, the audience was so warm and supportive, but on TikTok, it was so hard to get positive support. I think everyone should live their dream, and I have a tattoo that reminds me of that.
