Strandels, consisting of sibling duo Tova and Sixten Strandell made their debut in 2016 with their EP ’Chance of Rain’. Since then, the pair has toured with Per Gessle, played at the Great Escape Festival (UK) and performed in most of Sweden’s biggest TV Shows. Now with their upcoming debut album set for release in spring 2020, the duo has found their influences by artists such as John Mayer, Fleetwood Mac and the Cardigans. After mainly focusing on writing and aiming to find something honest and truthful, they released their latest single ’Slip’ from the upcoming album. The single got great reviews from various tastemakers, with words like: "Strandels provide an authentic take on one of the most calculated genres in the game, and they’re successful.” (IndieHappyHour)

Now the pair are releasing their second single ‘Not My Party’. Written by Tova and Sixten along with Johan Lindbrandt (Alex and Sierra, BoTalks) and Scott Effman (Kelly Clarkson, Justin Bieber) the song tells a story of unrequited love. With a melancholy, ethereal feel, driven by Tova and Sixtens harmonizing vocals, ‘Not My Party’ showcases their next step towards their debut album.

”In short ’Not My Party’ is about a love affair. That you’re falling for someone but you’re trying to get rid of those emotions since that person wants to be with someone else. It’s like a forbidden area to even think about. So the story in the song is about crossing that line because both people are drawn to each other, even though you shouldn’t do anything about it. ”
