Jeff Szur, founder and Chief Operations Officer of Altitude Water, has built a career on addressing one of the world’s most critical issues: access to clean water. With his innovative approach to atmospheric water generation (AWG), Szur is transforming the way communities around the globe produce and access safe, sustainable drinking water.

Growing up in Milltown, New Jersey, Szur was inspired by his father’s entrepreneurial spirit, which eventually led him to merge his business acumen with his passion for technology and the environment. Since co-founding Altitude Water in 2008, Szur has spearheaded advancements in AWG technology, which extracts water from the air and purifies it for drinking. “We’ve taken nature’s water cycle and applied it to technology,” Szur explains. “Our machines mimic how dew forms, creating water that’s naturally pure.”

Szur’s groundbreaking work has led to the development of versatile solutions, including residential units, military-grade machines, and disaster relief trailers. These systems are capable of producing hundreds of gallons of clean water daily, powered by solar energy and enhanced with ozone purification for maximum safety. “Ozone is 1,900 times more powerful than chlorine at purifying water, and it’s completely natural,” Szur notes. “It’s a game-changer in ensuring the water and our systems remain bacteria-free.”

One of Altitude Water’s most impactful projects is its Disaster Relief Trailer, which combines water production, solar energy, and connectivity features like cell service and internet access. “We built this trailer to respond to emergencies like the wildfires in Maui and Hurricane Idalia,” Szur shares. “It’s equipped to provide water, power, and communication, making it a lifeline for affected communities.”

Szur’s contributions extend globally. Altitude Water has provided clean water to communities in Cameroon, where the company installed a solar-powered water hub that serves over 1,000 villagers. “This project was life-changing,” Szur reflects. “We’re not only providing clean water but also electricity, WiFi, and skill-building programs for women in the village.”

This dedication has not gone unnoticed. Szur was recently honored at the Forbes Best of Africa 2024 Award Ceremony for his work in advancing clean water accessibility. His projects have also been featured on platforms such as The Weather Channel, Australia’s Ticker News, and Authority Magazine.

For those interested in supporting Altitude Water’s mission, Szur offers simple advice: “If you can’t invest in a machine, just follow us online. Every like, share, and comment helps spread awareness and fuels the ripple effect of positive change.”

With his focus on innovation, sustainability, and community impact, Szur and Altitude Water are proving that technology licensed by nature can truly change the world.
