Andrew Rader Fights for Justice in the Unregulated IVF Industry

Andrew Rader is a legal trailblazer, taking on complex cases in medical malpractice, reproductive negligence, and the largely unregulated in vitro fertilization (IVF) sector. As the founder and lead counsel of Rader Law Group, he is among the top 1% of board-certified civil trial attorneys recognized by the Florida Bar, a testament to his expertise and dedication. “I am one of less than one percent of Florida lawyers who is board-certified in civil trial law,” Rader proudly stated, underscoring his elite status in the legal field.

With over 30 years of experience in Florida and New York courts, Rader has built a reputation as a relentless advocate for those wronged by the medical system. His journey into law was deeply personal and driven by a desire to make a difference. “I wanted to fight for people on the streets and in the courtrooms,” Rader said. “I can’t fight a fight that isn’t in my heart.”

One of his most impactful cases involved a couple whose embryos were mistakenly destroyed by a fertility clinic.

Florida law previously considered embryos as mere property, which prevented families from seeking emotional damages. Rader successfully challenged this legal framework, arguing that the loss of embryos is far more than just a financial matter—it represents the loss of future family and hope. “What could be more emotionally devastating than the loss of your potential children?” he asked. His legal work set a precedent, allowing for emotional damages in these cases and paving the way for greater accountability in the IVF industry.

Rader has since uncovered an alarming number of IVF-related errors, from destroyed embryos to cases where embryos were implanted into the wrong surrogate. He stresses that the IVF industry remains largely unregulated, leaving many families vulnerable to devastating mistakes. “The law is always a step behind,” he explained. “But my job is to try to mitigate these risks as much as possible.”

Despite the challenges, Rader remains committed to ensuring justice for his clients and pushing for greater regulation and oversight in the fertility industry. “Most of the time, things go well,” he acknowledged. “But when they don’t, people deserve a path to justice.”
